On Tuesday, February 24th, a large crowd of supporters gathered at the former Big Jim’s Tavern to celebrate the culmination of years of planning and waiting. The Echo Effect Arts Campus has been on the mind and hearts of Thurman and Dawn Adams for about 9 years.
The time finally has arrived however and they celebrated with a ribbon cutting, speeches, music, food, and tours of the facility. They shared their dream and vision for the facility with all in attendance.
The vision includes a center for learning arts of all varieties. People will be trained in photography, dance, painting, music, production, singing, and more. These people will then spread throughout the community and beyond to share their gifts. It is truly a grand and contagious vision.
There is still much to be done moving forward. They are always looking for volunteers to help with the conversion of the space. You can donate online at their website http://www.echoeffectarts.com. You can also join them on Friday evenings at 7pm at the campus at 102 East Washington Street in Shelbyville. This will be a time of fellowship, worship and study.
Below are a couple of videos from the event. I apologize for the quality of the videos. I should have brought along a video camera instead of relying on my phone. The message should come across fine however. The first video is of the presentation time. The second video is the full “theme song” for the Echo Effect Arts Campus.
Enjoy!
