Rob Nolley Announces Candidacy for Reelection to 3rd Ward Council Seat
Rob Nolley announced that he is seeking reelection to the 3rd Ward Shelbyville Common Council seat on the Republican ticket. In doing so, Nolley is seeking his fourth term in the seat.
“It has been a true pleasure to serve the citizens of the 3rd ward. We have accomplished a lot over the past 12 years and I want to continue to work hard to make Shelbyville a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
While serving on the council, Rob has been a strong advocate of fiscal responsibility, small businesses, economic development and furthering the relationship with our sister city. He has helped creat hundreds of jobs, lure new, high-paying jobs and enhance the quality of life.
Rob was born and raised in Shelbyville. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1988. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and spent 4 years on active duty as a Navy Corpsman. After his active duty term was up, he stayed in the Navy Reserve and used his GI Bill to attend Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He graduated in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also is a graduate of Leadership Shelby County.
In 1997 he started his business, Tubesock, Inc., an information technology consulting firm. He has ran his business in Shelbyville for the last 18 years. In 2003 he received a commission in the United States Navy and served 7 years in the reserves as a Navy Supply Corps Officer, achieving the rank of LT. He also graduated with honors from the Naval Supply Corps School and from the Naval Officer Leadership Course.
Nolley is currently the head coach of the Shelbyville High School Boys and Girls Swim Teams and head coach of the Shelby County Aquatic Club.
Rob and the former Jill R. Drake have been married for 21 years and have two children, Makenzie, 19 and Quinn, 13. Makenzie is a sophomore at Indiana University studying Telecommunications. Quinn is in 8th grade at Shelbyville Middle School. Rob is the son of Robert and Donna Nolley and the son-in-law of John and Barb Eiler and Ron Drake.
