First Lady Karen Pence announced today that the state is now accepting entries for the Hoosier Heroines essay contest. She is joined by Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann, Secretary of State Connie Lawson, Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz and Auditor Suzanne Crouch, in inviting students grades 6-9 to participate in an essay contest telling who their Hoosier Heroine is and why. The deadline to submit an essay is February 21, 2014.
“Throughout the years, Indiana has had such a broad range of Hoosier Heroines from all walks of life,” said First Lady Karen Pence. “As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it is important to take the opportunity to reflect on the incredible work of these women and the impact each of them made on our state.”
